The Moriches Paquatuck Squaws
In 1972 a group of women were asked to help raise funds for Camp Paquatuck, a Rotary sponsored camp for disabled children. Their success was the beginning of the Moriches Paquatuck Squaws. Today, over thirty women meet once a month to plan and discuss fundraisers for the camp. More than 95 percent of the money they raise is given directly to Camp Paquatuck. The most successful event is the annual Spooky Walk. The Moriches Paquatuck Squaws is a non-profit organization. They are dedicated to the operation and maintenance of Camp Paquatuck. The camp relies on donations from organizations and local communities in order to operate. This organization continually strives to make sure that all children can have a special summer because, summer is for everyone!
